The Best Credit Card Deals

By Chris Buchheit on July 19, 2010

MP900408949-(1).jpgI personally am not a huge fan of credit cards. As far as I am concerned, I would much rather spend money that I actually have instead of paying a company to loan me money.

However, credit cards are not entirely evil. You simply have to be in the know when dealing with credit card companies. Murphy’s Law: If it is too good to be true, than it probably is.

If you are looking for great credit card deals, though, they are definitely out there. A simple Google search rendered the following:

According to www.askmrcreditcard.com, if you are looking for a card that might be able to get you some cash back, then Discover card is for you. Most credit cards give you a one percent rebate on most purchases, but Discover apparently gives you a five percent rebate on purchases like gasoline, airline tickets, hotels, restaurants, etc. Discover also gives you the option to redeem your rebates for gift cards.

A few cards will also give you zero percent APR for a lengthy period, and will not charge you money for balance transfers. Some of the best cards for that are the Discover More(SM) Card. Another good one is the Citi Platinum Select Master Card, which not only offers good APR rates (as low as 11.99 percent), but also gives you a separate credit card number to use while shopping online, for added security.

Also, according to www.credit-land.com , the three best credit card deals are Discover, Discover More, and the American Express Gold Delta Skymiles card. The third of these cards has a fixed APR rate, while the others are variable to many different factors. The first two start out at 11 percent APR, though.

However, regardless of all the bells and whistles, the one factor that is most important to consider is what suits your needs the best. If you are a student, apply for a student card, which usually has lower, often-times fixed rates. If you travel quite a bit, look for a card that gives you cash back and miles on travel purchases.
