Arthur McCall

My name is Arthur McCall and I come from Charlotte, North Carolina. Born in Columbia, SC and raised in Charlotte, I have a huge interest in the Carolinas. I am currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’m a Tarheel, and proud of it. Aside from the incredible sports teams of UNC-CH, I find the academia here of interest, especially Economics. Naturally, following my interests, I chose Economics as my major. I find the potential for improving the welfare of many while making no-one less well off a very interesting aspect of economics, and I think our country has the potential to support a lot of economic growth, and, with a redistribution of some of the profits, affect few in a negative manner. Following my graduation in May, I would like to work in Finance and eventually become a Financial Analyst. In addition to my interests in Economics and Finance, I enjoy the pastime of surfing. I spent the summer surfing, learning Spanish and volunteering in Costa Rica before returning to UNC-CH to continue my studies of Economics.
